Ferrite is compounded by many kinds of oxide which is comprised mainly with ferric ion, the material has ferrimagnetism or antiferromagnetic. Mainly includes soft magnet and hard magnet, manganese zinc ferrite, nickel zinc ferrite and manganese zinc ferrite are common soft magnets, the Hard magnet includes barium ferrite and strontium ferrite. The relative permeability of ferrite can reach up to thousands, the resistivity can reach up to 1011 times of metal, the eddy-current loss is small, it is very good to make high frequency electromagnetism part. The disadvantage is machining property not good, low heat stability and saturation flux density.
The Applications of Ferrite
Soft magnet: The remanent magnetization is weak and is easy to degauss, it is great to apply in the field need remagnetization. Such as antenna, recorder, memory cell and some high frequency part such as inductance coil, transformer, relay, alternating current dynamo etc.
Hard magnet: The remanent magnetization is strong and not easy to degauss, it is good for making permanent magnet, and is normally used on permanent-magnet meter, speaker, microphone, TV, permanent magnet motor etc.
